Apoptosis Related PDCD4: Promising Novel Biomarker Early Detection of Oral Cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the potential role of PDCD4 gene, involved in progression oral potentially malign disorder (OPMD) and squamous cell carcinoma cancer (OSCC). Material Methods: The was conducted on saliva blood samples that were collected from OSCC (n=6), OPMD (n=6) patients, healthy individuals. expression determined by using qRT-PCR. Kruskal Wallis test performed estimate relationship between clinical characteristics patients. correlation patients groups tested with Rank Spearman test. Results: mRNA levels assessed 6 OSCCs, individuals blood. In both saliva, 6/6 (100%) underexpressed OSCC, while it 5/6 (83%) OPMD. mean value significantly downregulated than (p<0.05). rank obtained a p-value for 2 tail 0.024 (p < 0.05), which showed significant both, coefficient -0.530 strong negative downregülation OPMD, OSCC. Conclusion: level is correlated indicates liquid biopsies may have as diagnostic biomarker

A Three–MicroRNA Signature as a Potential Biomarker for the Early Detection of Oral Cancer

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is often diagnosed at a late stage and may be malignantly transformed from oral leukoplakia (OL). This study aimed to identify potential plasma microRNAs (miRNAs) for the early detection of oral cancer. Plasma from normal, OL, and OSCC patients were evaluated. Small RNA sequencing was used to screen the differently expressed miRNAs among the groups. Next, the...

Urinary PGE-M: a promising cancer biomarker.

Cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and targeted therapies are the keys to success in better cancer control and treatment. A big challenge remains to identify biomarkers for predicting who may have higher cancer risk and are able to respond to certain chemopreventive agents as well as for assessing a patient's response during treatment. Although a large body of evidence indicates that chronic i...

Osteopontin -- a promising biomarker for cancer therapy

Osteopontin (OPN), a multifunctional protein, has emerged as a potentially valuable biomarker for diagnosing and treating cancers. Recent research focuses on its involvement in tumor biology including the cell proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis. Understanding the molecular mechanisms and pharmacological effects of OPN in cancer development could lead to new targets ...

Oral Cancer: Early Detection is Crucial

Oral cancer is a growing problem globally and in some countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan is right at the top of the ladder. More than 95% of all oral malignancies are oral squamous cell carcinoma. Tobacco, alcohol, and betel quid (BQ) use have been recognized as risk factors of oral cancer. Cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking are the major risk factors in Western coun...

Phases of biomarker development for early detection of cancer.

Recent developments in such areas of research as geneexpression microarrays, proteomics, and immunology offer new approaches to cancer screening (1). The surge in research to develop cancer-screening biomarkers prompted the establishment of the Early Detection Research Network (EDRN) by the National Cancer Institute (2). The purpose of the EDRN is to coordinate research among biomarker-developm...
